61- How to build relationships with your students as the music teacher

In this episode, we're going to talk about how to build relationships with your students as the music teacher.  It can be overwhelming trying to connect with your students when you have so many of them.  But, there are strategies and ways that you can effectively connect with them.

The strategies mentioned in this episode include:

• It takes time
• Learn your students names
• Have a talk to me box
• Talk about things unrelated to music
• Say "hi" and welcome them
• Realize when it's ok to stop teaching and come back to a lesson
• Remember the students acting out might need the most love
• Eat lunch with them sometimes
• Care about what they care about
• Positive reinforcement goes a long way
