About our guests:
Batsheva Frankel, the producer, and host of the podcast Overthrowing Education has been an educator for over 25 years. In 2011, she began developing the award-winning LaunchBox line – activities and games that explore big philosophical ideas. As an educational consultant, Batsheva has presented professional development workshops to educators at conferences, universities, and schools throughout the US and UK. Her book, The Jewish Educator’s Companion: Practical Tools and Inspirational Ideas was published by Behrman House in June 2017. Batsheva is the director of The Areté Institute, a project of Areté Preparatory Academy.

Tim Cavey is an 8th-grade educator teaching in Surrey, BC, Canada. Now in his 18th year of education, Cavey is currently pursuing a Master’s of Educational Leadership degree. His MEdL program has re-invigorated his passion for education. Favorite topics include collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, design thinking, growth mindset, inquiry, PBL, visible learning, and strategic uses of technology in education.
