Welcome to Speaking with Students. My name is Will, or (Mr. A) as often referred to by students. I consider myself a progressive, student-first educator. I teach social studies and film, I am a GSA Advisor, and, above all, I love being creative, innovative, and connective in the classroom. I have listened to a number of educational podcasts, and I have long wanted to try my own voice at it. I hoped this would be a way to do the educational podcast differently. Therefore, this podcast is predicated on the idea that conversations with students can lead to greater insight for educators and myself.

As a Social Studies Teacher, I pride myself on being an innovative educator who engages students through decision-making challenges, authentic assessments, student-led discussions and research, and conceptual history.
As an educator, I dedicate my energy and enthusiasm toward being a student-first leader in my academic community. I aim to build long-term, effective relationships that empower students.
I serve as an advisor for our school’s Gender-Sexuality Alliance and coordinator for our school’s Friday Morning TV Show and film program.
